I am sorry to have to inform you that the Moberly AARP Taxaide Help site has been closed. There will be no free help in Moberly. The AARP District 5 Coordinator and the Technology Specialist for M01 in Columbia, MO has made a decision to close the Moberly AARP Help Site this year.   Therefore, you will have to travel to Columbia or Macon in order to obtain assistance in completing your free AARP Income Tax Return for 2012. There are two sites in Columbia where you may obtain free help -

 Missouri United Methodist Church

204 South 9th Street

 Columbia Public Library

 100 West Broadway


Both of these sites accepts customers on a 1st come 1st serve basis. the Church operates from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Mon, Tues and Thurs.  They have a sign-in sheet and takes customers in the order of the sign-in sheet.   The have an inside waiting room.  The Public Library also runs on a first come first serve basis. Their hours are 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday and 9:00 to Noon on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  The require folks to line up outside before the library opens at 9:00 AM, pass out numbered tickets up to a certain limit. If there are more people waiting, they get turned away and told to come back another day. 

The NECAC office in Macon alwo offers AARP help with free Tax Returns but requires an appointment.  Appointments may be made by calling 660-385-4616. The volunteers at the Moberly AARP site wishes you all well this year and in the hopes that you will be able to obtain free help.  We thank you for the past 16 years and are sorry that will will be prevented from helping you another year.
