  2. 450 attend Art on the Block
    Per Moberly Area Community College Public Relations Director Scott McGarvey, it is estimated that close to 450 people lined the streets around the college last Saturday (June 8) for their fourth annual Art on the Block event.

    There were 12 interactive booths at the event, including such events as stone polishing, drip paint projects, spray paint graffiti art, chalk-making, tie-dyed t-shirts, theater mask design, and cookie decorating provided by Bratcher's Market.
  3. R-IV taking on handbooks, budget
    The Northeast R-IV Board of education will be meeting in the Middle School Science lab, at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, June 18.

  4. Board OKs seal coating machine, epoxy floors
    The Moberly Public Schools Board of Education approved a pair of bids at their regular meeting Tuesday night (June 11).

    Up first was a board decision between a pair of bids for new epoxy flooring installation at the Moberly Middle School and East Park.

    At MMS, the floors will be in the school’s bathrooms.

    East Park’s kitchen floor is the area up for renovation.

  5. Moberly resident top 10 at Miss Missouri
    Moberly resident Amanda Sasek was selected into the top 10 of last week's 43rd Miss Missouri Scholarship Pageant.

    Per a release related to the competition, Sasek, 22, "competed in [the] interview, talent, evening gown, on stage question, and swimsuit" portions of the event under the title of "Miss Heartland," and received $950 in scholarships, as well as a spot as one of the top 10 women in the competition.
